I am a digital designer living and working in New York City. Over the past decade I have worked on video projects for network, corporate, and independent film clients, print design and marketing for small businesses, and am now focusing my attention on web design and search engine optimization. Welcome to my website! Here are just a few of the services I provide:
Design and development of hand-coded, standards-based websites using valid, semantic (X)HTML with full CSS layouts.
Dynamic websites with ExpressionEngine.
Optimization of content, code, and internal links; editing and reformatting of content for the web.
Just completed this redesign of Blue Horse Digital's website, including content management with ExpressionEngine. Founders Betsy Rich and John Upshall wanted the site up asap for their growing business, which specializes in high-end archival video services. We worked together on the content, and managed to go live exactly 2 weeks from our first conversation, and still support everything from IE 5 to Google Chrome!Ingredients: Photoshop, Copywriting, XHTML, CSS, jQuery, Expression Engine, sIFR

This redesign of Tri-State College of Acupuncture's website involved a total restructuring of content and code. The end result is a highly functional website that's easy to navigate and comfortable to read. Ingredients: XHTML, CSS, jQuery, Expression Engine

Designer Lily McCullough of The Macro Company brought me on to develop a portfolio site for art director Graham Turner. Dynamic Flash was just the thing to bring Lily's design to life. Content updates are super simple thanks to the XML back end.Ingredients: Flash, ActionScript, XML, Javascript
ITS William is part a new template collection I'm creating.Ingredients: Photoshop, XHTML, CSS
Schnapp Studio brought me in to assist in the development of this Flash site for nascent advertising agency Rivet Global. I had a lot of fun bringing the unique design and interactive concepts of Rivet's in-house artists to life. FYI, pinatas and alcohol are a dangerous combination!Ingredients: Flash, ActionScript, Photoshop
Acupuncturist Chandra Hood wanted a clean, simple website to provide information for her patients. The layout and typography focus on making the content both legible and readable, and we incorporated statuesque anatomical sketches that reflect Chandra's background in Western biomedical science.Ingredients: Photoshop, XHTML, CSS
This was a first pass at a redesign for the marketing heavy Now Music site. This project is dead in the water, but would have provided some interesting Flash challenges. The design was inspired by a car stereo.Ingredients: Photoshop
I was contracted by Special Ops Media for the redesign and coding of the center column of JPMorgan's Institutional Americas home page. A clean design and semantic, list-based markup made this redesign a success.Ingredients: Photoshop, CSS, XHTML
This is a prototype for a Flash-based trigger point acupuncture training manual. The user can navigate the body to select a muscle, and then watch video examples of any point in that muscle being released. The application is XML-based to allow for easy updating as new video becomes available. Apps like this are a great use of technology, and I'm a fan of any project that uses Flash for education.Ingredients: Photoshop, Flash, ActionScript, XML, Poser
Working with legendary designer Bob Gill once again, for this Lumiere Productions documentary title sequence. I was responsible for interpreting Bob's story boards into an animation that would achieve his and producer Cal Skagg's vision. The outcome, for this documentary about journalists in the most dangerous and repressive locations in the world, involved text in six languages animating on with a type-on effect. Ingredients: Photoshop, After Effects
